Maquilishuat - Handmade Fernando Llort Stained Glass Figure

Maquilishuat is a memorable piece by El Salvador’s celebrated artist Fernando Llort. Simple lines and elements provide an expression of peace and harmony. Never requiring more than the basic building blocks of Salvadoran folklore to elicit his characteristic style, this small piece could be considered a distillation of Llort’s most distinguishing artistic themes.

An innovative, limited edition work of art made using eco-friendly materials and techniques. This item gracefully reflects elements of Salvadoran fauna and culture with rich colors, textures, brightness, and transparency. If you like to decorate your home with fine details or give your loved ones elegant home gifts, this item is for you.

Consuelo was handmade by our artisans using the Vitrofusion technique. Guided by the artist Margarita Llort, they used their vast experience with glass art to produce the "Artesanos de Luz" collection. Using artistic glass, wood, and metals, they recreated the designs that visual artist Fernando Llort left as a legacy with scenes inspired by the Salvadoran countryside, roots, people and God's creation.

Fernando Llort was one of the most important artists in the history of El Salvador. During his lifetime, he gained international recognition and participated in many art exhibitions around the world. Painter, sculptor, muralist and composer, his work was truly unique and he promoted art by founding the artists' cooperative called "La semilla de Dios."

By purchasing this item you’re supporting the Fernando Llort Foundation, promoting creativity, and stimulating psychosocial and communal well-being through art, both inside and outside of El Salvador.
