With this handmade, artistic glass piece, Fernando Llort captures Salvadoran identity, which we have taken as a part of our national iconography.
Fernando Llort was one of the most important and iconic artists in the history of El Salvador. Besides from being a painter, sculptor, muralist and composer, very unique in his style, Llort was a great art promoter since his activities inspired the local handicraft movement as he started the first local workshop, called the Semilla de Dios (Seed of God). This was incorporated as a cooperative, providing employment for people to learn and develop their skills.
Through "Colored Bird", the artist tries to recreate nature at his own interpretation, characterized by his lines and simple elements that express harmony and peace in which he believed.
This figurine is handmade by a skilled team of glass artisans, led by Margarita Llort, glass art expert, who with all her expertise captured the beautiful designs of Fernando Llort on to the glass.

Care: For cleaning, use a non-scratch cloth with a bit of window-cleaning solution. Wipe carefully and tap dry. For tougher stains use warm water, a bit of gentle soap, and two spoonfuls of vinegar. To brighten, polish glass with a non-scratch cloth. Remember, friction can cause scratches and damage the piece, avoid using force or contact with rough materials. When opening box do not lift piece by the glass, always lift by the wooden base or iron features.
